Royals Win Wild One Over Sox

After getting swept at home by the White Sox last week, the Royals got their first sip of revenge with a 13-9 win in Chicago on Monday. To get the win, they had to come from behind twice. Trailing 2-0 in the fourth inning, Kansas City took the lead with RBI’s from Desi Relaford, Angel Berroa and Dee Brown. But the White Sox rallied for four runs, which included a three-run homer from Westphalia, Missouri native Joe Crede in the fifth inning. The Royals took the lead for good in the sixth inning when they exploded for seven runs. Aaron Guiel sparked the explosion with a three-run double. In all, seven Royals drove in at least one run with Guiel and Angel Berroa collecting three RBI’s apiece. Dee Brown had career-high four hits, driving in two and scoring twice. Runelvys Hernandez was charged with six runs, but still got the win to improve to 6-4 on the season and Al Levine earned his first save as a Royal. Kansas City extended its lead to three games over Chicago in the A.L. West standings.

Thousands Of Missourians With Household Finance Loans To Share In Settlement

Thousands of Missourians with home loans from Household Finance will soon be able to claim a share of a $13.1-Million settlement in a suit against the company. Scott Holste with the State Attorney General’s Office says the filing can begin this week once notices of eligibility are sent out. About 16,000 Missouri borrowers stand to benefit. The amount of each Missouri claim will be anywhere from about $50 to several hundred dollars.
