Missouri again leads the nation in the number of meth labs raided and seized – more than 2,700 of them last year. That’s 28 percent more than in 2001. Jasper County had the most raids and seizures -178. But investigators say the numbers show meth making is spreading out of the Ozarks into eastern Missouri in a big way. Franklin County was second in the state last year with 152 raids. Jefferson Couty was third with 148. Those two counties are near St. Louis. More than 500 police officers in Missouri are specially trained to work on meth cases.
