House Speaker Catherine Hanaway of Warson Woods says she remains frustrated by the lack of cooperation on the budget lawmakers are getting from Governor Holden’s office. Hanaway doesn’t see the investigation into a memo that indicated state workers would be fired if they cooperate too closely with budget-cutting legislators as a big distraction. She says the larger issue is not the memo, but the lack of cooperation needed to successfully balance the budget for 2004.
