A new report says between 700,000 and one million Missourians under 65 years old are without health insurance – nearly one in four. Natiowide, the numbers are even worse. Doctor James Kimmey with the Missouri Foundation for Health says right now, the game plan is to raise awareness of the problem. Kimmey says the impact on everybody includes higher taxes to take care of those who can’t get health care for themselves and the higher health care costs associated with those who cannot afford preventive care.
