St. Louis area Congressman Dick Gephardt is throwing his hat into the ring for the 2004 presidential race. He’s at least the eighth Democrat to announce his candidacy. It’s Gephardt’s second try at the Oval Office in the last 15 years. He had served as House Democrat leader up until a few months ago when he resigned the post to explore the possibility of a presidential run.
