Governor Bob Holden’s choice to head the State Health Department has won a difficult State Senate confirmation. Dunn sent a letter to the Senator who was leading the opposition against him, promising that no state money would be used for abortions. He has stopped short of saying, however, that he will cut off family planning money to Planned Parenthood. Dunn says he is forming an audit team to investigate whether Planned Parenthood is violating any state laws pro-life lawmakers have written against it.
