Some are calling Gary Pinkel’s recruiting class of 2003 one of the best in recent history at Mizzou, though the head coach says he doesn’t pay any attention to internet recruiting sites and publications. One thing that’s for sure is that the program is making headway in St. Louis. The Gateway City has been a tough town for the program, but the icy relationship seems to be melting. Of the 22 players who signed letters of intent yesterday, six were from the St. Louis area. Three were from Eureka High School. Darnell Terrell, a speedy defensive back, is the gem of the bunch. Another St. Louis recruit, Damien Nash, originally committed to Mizzou in 2001 but didn’t qualify academically. He went to Coffeyville Community College in Kansas and got his degree in three semesters and will have three years of eligibility.
