Governor Bob Holden says the state’s current budget crisis is worse then previously thought. And, as a result, more budget withholdings are needed. Holden says he has informed the heads of state departments that more belt-tightening is necessary. Holden says that while details have yet to be worked out, the state needs to cut an additional $60-Million for the current fiscal year. Holden says these withholdings will come from expense and equipment budgets, and will not result in cuts to personnel.
