The Missouri Democrats’ poor showing in the November elections has resulted in a shake-up at the top of the party. Executive Director Mike Kelley has announced he’s stepping down from the post he has held since June of last year. Kelley says the election results have little to do with his decision to leave. But he does acknowledge changes must be made. He plans to remain with the Missouri Democratic Party as a spokesman. November’s voting saw the Republicans improve on their majority in the State Senate and capture the House for the first time in 48 years. In addition, Republican Jim Talent won election to the U.S. Senate over incumbent Democrat Jean Carnahan.
