The man charged with three murders in Dent County – including that of a deputy sheriff – has made his first court appearance, the left side of his face covered with bandages from the gunshot wound he suffered in a shootout with police. A not guilty plea has been entered for Earl Forrest the second by his public defender. He’s being held in the jail in Franklin County. The prosecutor in Dent County says people aren’t comfortable having Forrest in the jail where the deputy he’s accused of killing worked.
