Some of the victims of Kansas City drugist Robert Courtney are left wondering about what might have been if he had not provided diluted chemotherapy drugs to cancer patients. The victims include the survivors of some of his customers who have died. One of those who heard Courtney’s tearful apology in court was Kimberly Comfort, whose mother died while using Courtney’s drugs. Comfort says she wants to believe Courtney regrets what he did, but doesn’t know if she can. Another on hand was Mary Shrayder, who still suffers numerous physcial problems that she says resulted from using Courtney’s watered-down chemotherapy materials. Shrayder says she’s sure he’s sorry for what he did and she feels sorry for his family. Courtney has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.
