With Brent Johnson on the mend, the future of Blues goalie Fred Brathwaite is in question, at least in St. Louis. Last night he made his case to stay. Brathwaite stopped all 33 shots he saw as the Blues topped the Bruins 4-0. St. Louis took a 1-0 lead in the first period with Eric Boguniecki’s goal. Scott Mellanby and Doug Weight scored in the second period. Keith Tkachuk, who also had an assist, scored for good measure in the third period. The Blues will make a decision on what to do with Brathwaite once Brent Johnson returns from his rehab assignment in Worcester. With the win, St. Louis kept pace with Detroit, who also won on Tuesday. The Blues are a point behind the Wings for first place in the Central Division.
