Congress has created a national Homeland Security Department, but has failed to appropriate money promised to the states for security purposes. Missouri Homeland Security Advisor Tim Daniel says the money could go a long way in helping all states’ security efforts. But Daniel says the longer the state has to wait for that money to arrive, the more risk is run waiting for another terrorist attack to happen. He says if the money does come, its uses will be locked in by the federal government.
