There is a chance that he may play against the Eagles on Sunday, but nothing is certain. Kurt Warner will start at quarterback despite a bruised and swollen throwing hand.
SEMO Gets Hoops Win
While many of us were stuffing our face with turkey, dressing and other nap-inducing edibles, the Southeast Missouri State basketball team was sweating. They crushed Wisconsin-Milwaukee 89-75 at the University Hoops Classic in New Orleans. Derek Winans led four Indians in double digits with 25 points. Tim Scheer had 23. SEMO upped it’s record to 2-1. They’ll face Indiana State today.
Blues and Avs Tie
The Blues and Avalanche skated to a draw last night. Final score from Denver was 4-4. The Blues blew a 2-0 lead in the 2nd period and a 4-3 lead in the 3rd. Fred Brathwaite was in goal, making 27 saves on 31 shots. Keith Tkachuk netted his first goal since returning from a broken foot. The tie drops them two points behind 1st place Detroit in the Central Division. The Red Wings topped the Devils 3-2.
Bills Advance To Field Of 16
Jake Jewsbury scored the only goal Saint Louis University needed. He put one in the net at the 18th minute as the Billikens topped New Mexico 1-0 in the NCAA soccer tournament last night. The Bills allowed just one shot in the second half. SLU is now in the field of 16 and will face 2nd seeded Maryland on the road Sunday afternoon. The Bills are 15-3-2 on the season.
MU Falls To NU, SMS-West Plains Loses Nat’l Championship
The 19th ranked Mizzou volleyball team was no match for the juggernaut that is the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The fifth ranked ‘Huskers made quick work of the Tigers, beating them in three games. MU dropped to 24-7 overall, while NU improved to 27-1. Nebraska is 19-0 in Big 12 play. The SMS West Plains lost in the national JUCO volleyball championship yesterday falling to Miami Dade.
