Mariners pitcher Joel Piniero tossed a 5-hit complete game shutout as the Cards lost 5-0 in Seattle. Cards hurler Darryl Kile allowed home runs to Mark McLemore and John Olerud. Eli Marrero had a home run taken away from him after third base umpire Larry Vanover reversed his earlier decision, calling it a foul ball. The Birds are off today.
