The Royals have had trouble holding on to leads this season. On Tuesday they gave away a 5-0 lead in their 14-inning loss to Florida. Last night they took a 6-0 lead thanks to Joe Randa’s two-run double and two-run homer. It was his 6th homer. Carlos Beltran also went deep for the 9th time his year. Then the rains came and after a 70-minute delay, the game was called. Darrell May was the winner, improving to 2-3….Royals owner David Glass responded to rumors about the team being on baseball’s chopping block saying, “The Royals absolutely are not going to be contracted.” Montreal is the leading candidate for contraction.
