Concerns about short supplies of vaccines have prompted the State Health Department to get out the message there is no need to panic. The Department’s Sue Denny says that while there have been shortages of certain vaccines for children, the problem is being resolved and parents should not be too concerned. Some of the shortages were brought about by a decrease in the number of suppliers while others resulted from Food and Drug Administration delays in approving new vaccines.
