John Gotti, the organized crime figure once known as “the Teflon Don,” has died at a hospital in Springfield at the age of 61. The former Mafia boss suffered from throat cancer and had been been moved to the Springfieldprison hospital from a maximum-security federal prison in Illinois. His health had been failing for some time, and he died this morning. Gotti was serving a life sentence when he died.
