The Cardinals had won six series in a row until last night’s 5-2 loss to the Pirates. The Birds dropped two of three to the Bucs this weekend. Matt Morris allowed three runs off seven innings to drop to 7-4 on the season. The Cards only runs came off Albert Pujols two-run homer. Their loss coupled with the Reds win yesterday, dropped St. Louis two games behind first place Cincinatti in the N.L. Central.
