Royals starter Paul Byrd failed in his attempt to become the American League’s first 9-game winner as Kansas City fell to Texas 8-6. Byrd allowed five first inning runs, and was charged with the loss, he’s 8-3. The Rangers led 7-0 before the Royals rallied for four runs in the 5th inning. It wasn’t enough, as K.C. dropped two of three to Texas this weekend.
