The man who was responsible for two race tracks in Southwest Missouri has passed away. Bill Willard died on Monday at the age of 71. Willard was responsible for the construction of the I-44 Speedway in Lebanon in 1983, now called Midway Speedway and he re-opened the Bolivar Speedway in 1988. Tony Stewart won his first midget race in Lebanon. Ken Schrader, Rusty Wallace, and Mike Wallace also raced at Willard’s tracks.
