Government and business leaders are putting their heads together today at the Lake of the Ozarks during the Governor’s Conference on Economic Development. They’re trying to figure out how to get Missouri’s laggingeconomy going again. State Economic Development Director Joe Driskill says due to budget cuts, his department will have about $25-Million less than last year to work with in the coming fiscal year. Driskill says research and development and its transfer to commercial technology must be speeded up. Also, he says conferees will talk about how to better match education and training for Missourians with the kind of jobs the state wants to attract, as well as getting more investment into the state.
