The traditional summer travel season begins this afternoon with the start of the Memorial Day weekend. The State Highway Patrol promises to be out in force – doing what can be done to keep the roads safe. Captain ChrisRicks of the Patrol says troopers will be focused primarily on two kinds of drivers who can cause problems – speeders and those not paying attention to their driving. The people not paying attention include drivers using cell phones. Ricks says driving requires a person’s undivided attention and using a cell phone can cause serious problems.
