A group many consider crucial to the passage of a $500-Million transportation issue is decidedly cool toward it. The Missouri Farm Bureau hasn’t come out against the measure, but hasn’t endorsed it either. The Farm Bureau’s Estel Fretwell says the Bureau went into the session with high expectations something could be done to fix Missouri roads. Fretwell says the Farm Bureau wanted the Legislature to go farther to stop the diversion of fuel tax revenue to departments other than transportation. It also wants to see a plan for how the new revenue would be spent before it makes a decision on whether to support it.
