Once again, the race for the U.S. Senate held by Senator Jean Carnahan is proving to be a much sought after prize by Democrats and Republicans in Washington. The head of the U.S. Small Business Administration, Hector Barreto, is in St. Louis today to join Republican Senate candidate Jim Talent as they discuss small business issues. Tomorrow, Senator Carnahan will be joined by Senator Jim Jeffords of Vermont, who will campaign on her behalf in St. Louis. Jeffords jumped from the Republican Party shortly after the last election to sit as an Independent – turning over control of the U.S. Senate to the Democrats.
