A State Representative says he wants to keep radical animal rights activitists off Missouri farms and out of animal facilities and says he doesn’t mind keeping the news media from investigating suspected puppy mills while he’s at it. Representative Ken Legan of Halfway has tacked an amendment onto an agriculture bill that would make it illegal to take photographs or make videos on private property without the owner’s permission. It could be extended to cover investigative reporters, though another Representative modified Legan’s original language barring photos only if the person took them with criminal intent. The Representative who modified the language says that should clear the way for legitimate investigative work.
