A $600-Million transportation bill has passed the House as the Legislature moves another step closer to asking voters to approve higher taxes to fix Missouri’s roads. The bill approved in the House contains not only a funding package, but many transportation regulations. The measure calls for a three-quarter cent increase in the sales tax and a three cent increase in the gas tax. The Senate has its own version. The two chambers will try to reconcile their differences.
