The losing streak stopped at six last night as the Royals topped the Twins 4-1. Mike Sweeny broke a scoreless tie in the sixth inning with a sacrifice fly, scoring Michael Tucker. In the seventh A.J. Hinch drove in two with a single. Carlos Beltran made it 4-0 in the eighth, scoring on a wild pitch. Paul Byrd got the win in seven innings of work. He’s now 5-2. Roberto Hernandez got the save…Allard Baird says he’s close to hiring a new Royals manager, but it won’t be fan favorite Frank White. Baird says White will remain in the front office.
