Citizens upset that the Legislature is considering subsidizing ballparks make their presence known at the State Capitol. About 70 people from various St. Louis organizations roamed the halls between the Senate and House chambers, protesting consideration of the stadium bill. They wore white T-shirts with the phrase “Fund the Needy, Not the Greedy” printed on them along with a political cartoon criticizing what they call corporate welfare. A group spokesman says the inner cities are deteriorating asmoney is given to the rich. Should the Senate put the final stamp on the stadium bill, it would move to the House.
