Missouri softball coach Jay Miller was fired yesterday after 15 seasons in Columbia. In that time Miller led the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament twice, but the last three seasons have been rough, going 15-37 in Big 12 play. Miller’s squad was 29-33 overall with a conference mark of 4-14 in 2002. He departs with a record of 556-309. Ironically enough, Miller is a candidate for the coaching job of the 2004 U.S. Olympic squad.
