The “Big Empty” is starting to slowly fill up. The Bonne Terre prison, which has been empty although it’s been ready for inmates for almost two years, has gotten its first 50 prisoners. They’re people involved in thecorrections department’s “boot camp” program – people who are seeking probation or who have violated it. TheLegislature has included money in the next budget to put more inmates there.
