The Cardinals had no answer for Brewer first baseman Richie Sexson last night. He singlehandedly erased St. Louis’ 4-0 lead pushing Milwaukee to a 7-5 win. Sexson hit two homers and had a triple as well, driving in all seven Brewer runs. His last dinger came in the 7th inning off Luther Hackman. The three-run shot gave the Brew Crew the lead. Hackman was charged with the loss. Earlier in the day, manager Davey Lopes was fired.The Cardinals may give pitcher Josh Pearce his first major league start tonight. Pearce and reliever Mike Crudale were brought up from Triple-A Memphis after Garret Stephenson went on the DL. Stephenson’s suffering from back spasms. He joins Rick Ankiel and Woody Williams on the disabled list.
