After twelve seasons in the Major Leagues, right-handed pitcher Andy Benes has apparently retired. The 34 year old has been bothered by knee problems, which has affected his ability to pitch. He was 1-2 this season. Benes compiled a career record of 150-137, he was 47-36 in two different stints with St. Louis. Neither Benes or the Cardinals have made an official announcement.
