The starting pitching wasn’t great, but it was the bull pen that let the Royals down last night. They lost to the Twins 8-5. Kansas City got off to a 3-0 lead thanks, in part, to Michael Tucker’s two-run double. Later, in the game they lead by a count of 5-2, before Minnesota rallied for 2 runs in the 4th to make it 5-4. In the 6th, reliever Blake Stein surrendered four runs in a third of an inning of work, making it 8-5. Stein got the loss. Starter Dan Reichert got the no decision. The Royals hope to snap their three-game skid tonight. Paul Byrd gets the go for the Royals, Brad Radke for the Twins. Byrd and Radke share 2-0 marks. First pitch at 7:05 from the Metro Dome.
