A team from Lafayette County High School in Higginsville has won this weekend’s race for home-made moonbuggies. The event is held each year at NASA’s Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The team finished first and third in the high school part of the event. The event features human-powered vehicles simulating the lunar rovers that were used on the moon during the Apollo program. Contestants compete on anobstacle course that simulates a lunar landscape.
