A tunnel being built to carry traffic in an out of Lambert Airport in St. Louis will be constructed without fire sprinklers. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the tunnel is being built with sprinklers only for anxiliary rooms, not the roadway. Some fire officials question the absence of sprinklers that could be used to quickly put out a car fire.
