The State Health Department is out with its 2002 Consumer’s Guide to Hospital Surgery Volume – a guide that looks at volume of activity for certain surgical peocedures at the state’s hospitals. The Guide does not rank the hospitals according to success rates, nor does it deal with patient satisfaction. It focuses only on activity forprocedures ranging from heart transplants to pancreatic cancer surgery.
