When state lawmakers return to Jefferson City next week, they’ll start to consider which of the bills in various committees are moved on and which ones are left to languish in those committees. Senator John Loudon ofBallwin is the sponsor of one bill he hopes is moved to the floor of the Senate. It deals with abortion parental consent laws that exist in this state, but don’t exist in neighboring Illinois. He says Illinois is allowing abortion clinics to recruit young people from Missouri. Loudon wants to allow any Missouri parent to file a lawsuit against anyone helping his or her minor child obtain an abortion.
