When the St. Louis Cardinals take on the Colorado Rockies on Opening Day April 1st, righthander Matt Morris will be the starting pitcher. Cardinals manager Tony LaRussa confirmed yesterday that the 22-game winner from a season ago will get the ball for the first game. He made the announcement prior to the Redbirds 5-2 win over Boston yesterday in Grapefruit League action. That victory improved St. Louis to a Major League best 10-3 this spring.
