A former financial advisor from Joplin who admits defrauding customers out of millions of dollars has been sentenced to 12 years in prison. And, Gregory Fears has been ordered to pay back almost $63-million. Fears and a partner convinced elderly women to let them handle theirassets. They promised to put the money into conservative investments, but instead put the money into high-risk stocks. The partner, Martin Smith of St. Louis, will be sentenced later.
