A union representing nurses at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur says about 80 registered nurses could be fired because they have not paid their union dues or service fees. A clause in the union contract says employees who don’t pay up can be fired. St. John’s is the first private hospital in the state to have nursesunionized under the United Food and Commercial Workers Union.
