House Budget Committee members, desperate to find more money in a down budget year, have convinced the full House to go along with a plan that would add $30-Million to state coffers. The plan calls for taking excess balances from various state funds to help ease budget pressures. House Budget Chairman Tim Green of St. Louis promotes the bill as a way keep from cutting deeper. The House has approved the measure and sent it to the Senate. It would take the $30-Million dollars to help the current year’s budget and also use another $30-Million to hold off cuts next year.
