The security chief at the St. Louis workhouse, who has been suspended since five inmates broke out two weeks ago, says he’ll fight the mayor’s efforts to fire him. The lawyer for Michael McKinney says the mayor has violated due process by announcing he’ll try to get Michael McKinney fired without going through regular civil service procedure. McKinney denies that he ignored tips that an escape was being planned. One of the five inmates is still out.
