It was a classic at the Hearnes Center yesterday, but it didn’t end the way Missouri fans would have hoped as the Tigers lost to #1 Kansas 95-92. With the win, the Jayhawks become the first team to go 16-0 in the Big 12. The game was tight throughout and Missouri had a chance to tie with six seconds remaining – but after moving the ball up the court, senior guard Clarence Gilbert missed a three at the buzzer. Despite the miss, Gilbert still led Missouri with 27 points while Rickey Paulding added 23 and Kareem Rush 22. Nick Collison paced the Jayhawks with 28 points – Kirk Heinrich added 25. Missouri falls to 20-10 on the season and they will be the six-seed in the Big 12 Tournament, which begins on Thursday. In the first-round, the Tigers will match-up with 11th-seeded Iowa State. After the game, head coach Quin Snyder talked about the heartbreaking loss.
