The Southwest Missouri State Bears lost in the semifinals of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament yesterday in St. Louis, dropping an 86-63 decision to top-seed Southern Illinois. Barry Hinson’s squad falls to 17-15 with the defeat. Scott Brakebill led the Bears with 21 points. He was the only Bear to finish in double-figures. Southern Illinois will play Creighton tonight for the MVC title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
