We’ve heard how much Missouri will invest in the stadium project in St. Louis – $210-million, but very little about how much it might make for the state, until now. The state stands to net more than $106-million in new revenues over 30 years as taxpayers pay for the stadium project. In addition, State Economic Development Director Joe Driskill says the state is expecting at least another $106-million in new revenues from the adjacent Ballpark Village, a venture the state is not pumping money into. Driskill says he’s basing those numbers on figures he’s received from the Cardinals, adding he’s used his own economists to confirm the numbers. And, he says the state has a safeguard that the projections would be true byhaving naming rights to the stadium. Driskill says it’s too early to discuss who might pay for naming of thestadium.
