President Bush has received a formal request from Governor Bob Holden, asking that the federal government pick up a greater share of the costs for the clean up of the ice storm that lashed parts of western, northern, andcentral Missouri. The Governor’s spokesman, Jerry Nachtigal, says the state is asking for Uncle Sam to pay 90-percent. As things stand now, the federal government – through the Federal Emergency Management Agency – has agreed to pay for 75-percent of the clean-up. The state and individual communities are expected to pay theremainder.
