The State Senate is being asked to consider legislation aimed at keeping children and guns apart in Missouri homes. Senator Betty Sims of St. Louis, the sponsor of what’s called the “Children’s Firearm AccessPrevention Act,” says the legislation is similar – but not identical – to firearms legislation in other states. Sims says this bill is NOT intended to take guns out of the homes of law-abiding Missourians. It is, she says, only intended to protect children from accidents involving firearms.
