The Kansas City Chiefs inked #3 quarterback Joe Germaine to a one-year deal yesterday. Germaine spent the entire 2001 season on the Chiefs active roster, but he did not see any game action. He was acquired right before the season started in a trade with the St. Louis Rams. He is expected to battle Todd Collins for the back-up job in training camp. The Chiefs also signed wide receiver John Capel to a three-year deal yesterday. He spent the final four weeks of the 2001 season on the Chiefs practice squad.
