The A.P. Green firebrick company in Mexico is closing at the end of March, ending almost a century of business. About 100 people will lose their jobs. A.P. Green has made heat-resistant materials often used to line furnaces and reactors. The firebrick from A. P. Green also has been used to line the launchpads at Cape Kennedy. At its peak, during World War Two, the plant had four-thousand workers.
